Leatherwork Photo Gallery

Here are some samples of my leatherwork. Some of my tools, belts, a travelling bag, various calligraphy pieces.

I started doing leatherwork in the late 60’s. I learned some of the Gaucho plaiting patterns from my old school friend Patrick who had returned from a year out in Argentina, learning the real thing. I picked up some from him, and also learned classic American western tooling techniques from a cool old dude called Bob in London.

I went out to the west coast of Ireland in the early 70’s and supported my self and growing family by doing leatherwork…making all the usual kinds of things, and became a member of the Cork Craft Guild.

Over the decades, I have developed my own hybrid style, and this gallery shows some samples of my work over the past few years.
